Bio

In 2011 I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Art History, Theory, and Criticism. For over ten years afterward, I worked in different professional service industries in both New York City and Chicago, as a client services accountant, office manager, and C-suite executive assistant. Disenchanted with the business world and the strictures of the nine-to-five routine, I left this career path to pursue my lifelong dreams of working with words and being my own boss and enrolled in the Editing certificate program at the University of Chicago. Since then I have worked extensively with traditional publishers, university presses, indie authors, and museums as well as various other types of clients, editing book manuscripts, academic journals, exhibition text, and just about anything else thrown at me. I serve as the Style Guide Expert at the National Association of Writers & Editors (NAIWE) and am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA). When I’m not reading, writing, or editing, you’ll find me running on the Chicago lakefront, spending time with my two extra-spicy dogs, Louise and Jackie (white and black supermutt, respectively), or thinking about and then, sometimes, traveling.
