Bio
In 2011 I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Art History, Theory, and Criticism. For over ten years afterward I worked in different professional service industries in New York City and Chicago, as an accountant and then executive assistant. Disenchanted with the business world and the strictures of the nine-to-five routine, I left this career path to pursue my lifelong dreams of working with words and being my own boss, and enrolled in the Editing certificate program at the University of Chicago. Since then I have worked extensively with traditional publishers, university presses, and indie authors as well as various other types of clients, editing book manuscripts, academic journals, exhibition text, and just about anything else thrown at me. I am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and serve as the style guide expert for the National Association of Independent Writers & Editors (NAIWE).
When I’m not reading or editing, you’ll find me running on the Chicago lakefront or spending time with my two extra-spicy dogs, Louise and Jackie. In 2026 I will be running my sixth marathon, in Berlin, Germany.
